OPEN POSITIONS
Current Research Opportunities (11/2024). We are currently recruiting at all levels below for the following two topics:
(1) Genome Organization (higher priority). Those interested in re-writing the human genome to understand basic mechanisms in transcriptional control, epigenetics, and cellular identity.
(2) Myeloid Cell Therapies. Those interested in using genome engineering in off-the-shelf iPSC-derived macrophages or dendritic cells to treat any number of diseases including cancer, alzheimer's, and degenerative tissue diseases.
Undergraduate and Masters students. We are open to Master's students interested in a doing a thesis or guided studies for at least a 1 year commitment. Undergraduates should apply through the Tandon UGSRP. You should be passionate about Building with Biology and have demonstrated commitment, motivation, and consistency. Please reach out to Dave via email outlining why you want to work in this field. Please send a cover letter, specifically writing about why you want to work in my group, as well as a resume/CV.
Postdoctoral Fellows. We are always interested to hear from recent PhD graduates interested in stem cell and immune cell engineering. All relevant backgrounds are of interest as we are an interdisciplinary lab. However, emphasis will be given to those with experience in pluripotent stem cell research and genome engineering. To apply, please email a CV, and a letter of interest.
PhD Students. We are generally interested in driven and self-motivated PhD students. You should be a self-starter, fascinated by discoveries, unfazed by failing, and have a sense of purpose. Please apply for the PhD program at the NYU Tandon Biomedical Engineering graduate program (link). In your personal statement be sure to focus on how your previous experiences prepare you for work in my group and beyond, and what motivates you to begin a career in laboratory research.
